Natalia E. Thurston, J.D., M.B.A, Director of Legal Services, has served as a legal advisor to California’s cannabis industry in business law matters since 2010. In her vigorous legal representation of cannabis businesses across California, Natalia brings to the table a strong educational background coupled with extensive industry expertise. Natalia earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, M.B.A. from San Francisco State University, and J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law. While studying at Berkeley Law, she won the American Jurisprudence Award for Small Business Counseling, served as an editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal, and as a business consultant to the East Bay Community Law Center’s Economic Development Unit. Committed to social justice and patient access issues, Natalia has served as pro bono counsel in a wide range of matters from helping low income terminally ill patients seeking legal relief to serving as legal counsel to the Oakland Art Museum for its 2016 exhibition, Altered State: Marijuana in California.
