On Tuesday 10/8/13, Federal prosecutors dropped a civil asset forfeiture
case against an Anaheim city landlord, Tony Jalali. Jalali and the government entered into a “stipulated agreement” that is still awaiting approval from a judge. Par for the course, Federal prosecutors did not comment on the particular agreement. The agreement is one of the first major marijuana court cases to come after the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it would not go after legal cannabis in states with “strong and effective regulatory and enforcement systems.” Jalili’s attorney said, “this is a case that should never have been filed.” For more info check out the article: http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/oct/08/feds-drop-calif-medical-pot-case-against-landlord/
